About the Artist

Yvonne Wright Yvonne Wright (a.k.a. Nowicka-Wright) has had a rewarding career in fine arts encompassing international awards and works in public and private collections. With a Master of Art degree in art history, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and drawing, Yvonne has channeled her passion for creative and intellectual inquiry through a variety of artistic fields and mediums. Currently, the artist owns and operates an artist's studio, the STUDIO YNW in Jim Thorpe, PA.

In fine art, whether in paintings, drawings or hand pulled lithographs the language of visualization often draws on the legacy of Surrealism, where fantasy and pastiche play an integral part. Concept and technique driven, the artist uses the narrative of the line, a style of a calculated precision to narrate a story. The eclectic gallery of bird-women falls into the category of what Joan Miro once noted about Surrealism: what really counts is to strip the soul naked - and is largely confined to portraiture. Often small in size, Yvonne's works acquire a unique relationship with their viewers revealing themselves more intimately at closer inspection.

Digital media combined with photography has enabled the artist to explore a deeper sense of mystery that lies within natures diversity, coupled with her innate sense of curiosity about life. The unexpected, the hidden and the playful can be perceptively revealed anew in aesthetically re-purposed vintage objects, architectural elements and the natural world, when the atmospheric properties of light and shadows are applied in relation to the objects forms, colours and textures.
In 2014, Yvonne Wright published a book on architecture "Seduced by Form: Aesthetics of Spectacle in Contemporary Art Museum Architecture" available worldwide where academic books are sold.
